Be careful when configuring subdomains in Plesk. Creating a new subdomain and setting its Document root to httpdocs (which is the document root for the main domain) will actually create Plesk’s “test” Directory and the default index.html in your main httpdocs folder.

Futuremark released a summary of the last two years of “Peacekeeper” Browser Benchmarking including scores for current browsers:

Chrome 15.0.874.121 – Peacekeeper score 4720
Opera 11.52 – score 4318
Firefox 8.0.1 – score 2554
Internet Explorer 9.0 – score 2471
Safari 5.0.5 – score 1752

Browsers ranked by performance on a 15” MacBook Pro (early 2011) with an Intel Core i7-2720QM processor (higher scores are better)

Chrome 15.0.874.121 – Peacekeeper score 3660
Opera 11.52 – score 2747
Firefox 8.0.1 – score 2033
Safari 5.0.5 – score 1861

Wait – Safari is 2 to 2.7 times slower than Chrome? Let’s have a look at the version numbers.

Chrome 15.0.874.121 released on Nov. 16th 2011 and is the latest release.
Safari 5.0.5 was released on April 14th 2011, Safari 5.0 uses the same engine and was released on June 7th 2010. Version 5.1.2 from November 29th is the latest release, with Safari 5.1.1 from October 12th 2011 being the last version to introduce performance improvements.
Opera and Firefox were also tested with their latest versions.
Running the new Peacekeeper test with a current version paints a different picture:

Makes me wonder why Futuremark would release such bogus data? Probably to “keep the peace” …

When Craig Mundie publicly stated that Windows Phone has had “capabilities similar to Siri for more than a year” he was either deliberately misrepresenting the truth (i.e. lying) or showing a shocking lack of technical expertise.
